No Smoke Or Mirrors

Everyday we work on the youAR project we ask ourselves:

“What can make an experience with AR better?

Believability! Getting the feeling that you are really experiencing something magical is the key.

youAR content can interact with you and your surroundings, touch, hide behind and react to things that are in your space, things that you see everyday.

Other companies have married the future of AR to hardware by strapping sensors on a device, then aggregating all of the readings to create an AR experience. While, new hardware solutions are fundamental to headset projects like HololensMeta, as well as handheld devices like Google Tango.

youAR is different

For the past 3 years, we have developed methods and algorithms that bestow the standard smartphone, with the magic of AR, thanks to the power of our unique Computer Vision

The Future of AR

How AR will be used in the future rests squarely in the hands of those who can use it today. There are billions of people in the world that carry a smartphone. Compare that to the handful of people who have access to the emerging hardware solutions.  Even as the price of new technology drops, smartphones will continue to dominate the world market for years to come.

Moreover, giving billions of users the ability make and use AR content is almost useless if we can’t interact with the creations of others. We’ve provided the smartphone with the capacity to share its environmental understanding with other devices. Anyone can see and participate, from their own point of view.

What’s more is, youAR will let people create and share their own experiences. youAR objects and apps give users the ability to customize their own experience. Allowing them to shape geometry data to match real-spaces, animate amazing interactions, while sharing and participating with their friends in real time.

Our latest tech demo (YouTube: “NEXT LEVEL AR!!! Bent Pokemon Go Tech Demo”), will give you a taste of what is to come. See for yourself how these youAR technologies can add to an already popular AR app. keep an eye out for:

  • Markerless tracking even though the backlight from the sun is creating adverse lighting conditions.
  • Multiple players with separate devices participating real-time in a shared event.
  • Animated objects and characters that interact with the surrounding terrain.

Enjoy 🙂
